Prior to that, they lived in Hawaii, where they raised their three children, were heavily involved in Hawaiian outrigger canoe paddling. Neither of their jobs prepared them for ranching; Mike was the administrator of a federal agency and Sally was a pediatric social worker. At present, Mikespends his time caring for his natural beef herd and growing 10 varieties of newly developed organic apples, such as Molly's Delicious and Jonathan's pride.
